Pathology
Pathology is the study of medicine that bridges the clinical and non-clinical discipline of the medical curriculum. The main aim is to provide quality diagnostic service in histopathology, cytology, haematology, blood bank services and clinical pathology. Among them, Clinical pathology, haematology and blood bank services function round the clock in AVMC&H.
This department is headed by an experienced pathologist, young and vibrant faculty are actively involved in diagnostic work, curriculum development for undergraduate teaching and research.
We have enrolled in the National External quality control programmes offered by JIPMER, AIIMS, CMC Vellore, Neuberg Anand laboratory etc. We are proud as we provide blood and blood components to more than 16 private hospitals in and around Puducherry.
We are aimed at bringing out the best knowledge professionals and motivating our undergraduate medical students, nursing, Physiotherapy and allied health science students to excel in their academics.
