Welcome to Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital’s Blood Center – the heartbeat of compassionate care, where every drop counts towards saving lives. We take pride in being a pivotal part of the healthcare ecosystem, dedicated to bridging the gap between generosity and those in urgent need. We are one of the well-maintained and equipped Blood Centers in Puducherry with 2500 sq. feet of total constructed area. It was set up on 22/05/2002 with the vision of providing safe Blood and Blood components.

Our fully equipped and licensed Blood Center is engaged in Blood collection from voluntary non-remunerated donors. It offers an entire spectrum of services from Blood collection, screening, component separation. The Blood Center works round the clock to serve our patients to tackle any emergency. Voluntary Blood donor list and registry are maintained and updated regularly. Our Blood Center conducts frequent community outreach programs to elevate the awareness of the community and to motivate Blood donation.  We tirelessly work 24/7 to maintain an adequate and non-stop supply of Blood to our patients. Our Blood Center conducts regular voluntary In-house Blood donation camps to achieve 100% voluntary Blood donation. We cater to around 16 private hospitals and nursing homes in and around Puducherry.

Our Blood is collected from donors who satisfy stringent donor selection criteria after screened by a registered medical practitioner.

Our Blood Center performs transfusion-transmitted infection screening procedures with the ELISA method to ensure the safety of Blood transfusion to patients.

Our Blood Center is enrolled in the National External Quality Control program offered by JIPMER and CMC, Vellore.

Our vision is to strive consistently for safe and effective transfusion practices by constant update and implementation of the latest developments in the field of transfusion medicine.
