Nephrology
We provide at most care to patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases. Our eminent and experienced team of doctors is recognized for their excellent clinical skills and for treating both children and adults. We offer advanced diagnostics, preoperative evaluation and dialysis support. Latest facilities are available for surgical procedures and post-operative care to minimize chances of infection.
We also provide dialysis service driven by an efficient team of nephrologists, nurses, and certified haemodialysis technicians along with registered dieticians.Our dialysis unit was established in 2013 with two machines. Over the years it has grown and currently, there are 7 machines running four shifts a day.
The following services are provided in our nephrology department:
- Outpatient services Monday to Saturday
- Hemodialysis (both acute and maintenance hemodialysis)
- Renal Biopsy
Hemodialysis unit
Ours is a well-equipped hemodialysis unit with state-of-the-art dialysis machines, which are managed by well-trained dialysis technicians and staff. As of now, we have seven dialysis stations providing round-the-clock dialysis services to needy patients. Eligible patients are given maintenance dialysis free of cost under the Tamil Nadu Government’s Medicare programme, as well as other insurances. Currently, we are running nearly 500 sessions per month. We are also proud to say that our dialysis unit was one among the very few institutes which provided free dialysis for COVID positive patients, including those who were critically ill. A qualified nephrologist periodically reviews our dialysis patients, for whom blood investigations are done monthly completely free of cost. We provide Hd for HCV positive CKD patients through isolated HD machines in a separate room.
Renal Biopsy
Kidney biopsies for various indications, including nephrotic syndrome, rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis, and acute glomerulonephritis, are done. Kidney biopsy samples are prepared with modern techniques and examined by a dedicated nephron pathologist.
Critical care nephrology
We provide nephrology care and extracorporeal therapies like SLED and plasmapheresis to critically ill patients.
