Dr Satish Kuruvila is a renowned Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology with over 30 years of experience in the medical field, Dr. Kuruvila is a go-getter who always strives for excellence and is known for his unwavering commitment to quality. Prior to joining AVMC, he has been associated with the Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences for almost 21 years. Dr Kuruvila has a diverse range of experience, including serving as Medical Superintendent, Additional Medical Superintendent, Technical Assistant to the Director-Principal, Registrar, and Deputy Medical Superintendent for the Outpatient Department and Central Sterile Supplies Department. He has successfully converted the OPD setting to a paperless unit, greatly increasing accountability at every step of patient care.

He completed his M.B.B.S from Christian Medical College, Vellore, followed by D.G.O in 1990 and Dip. N.B (Obs and Gyn) in 1991 from the same institution. Later on, he pursued an M.Phil. (HHSM) in 2013 from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani. In addition to his academic achievements, he holds various certifications including Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Statistical Process Control Professional, 5S certified, and an Advanced Diploma in Quality Management.

He has served as an external examiner for both undergraduate and postgraduate clinical examinations and has set papers for multiple universities. He is also a peer reviewer for many prestigious international journals. Over the past twenty years, he has held several administrative positions where he has implemented various quality processes. He has conducted research on pregnancy outcomes, cervical cancer screening, and fetal anomalies and has contributed to many  publications.
