The Department of Pharmacology conducted a CME on “Mood, Movements, and Medications” at the New Auditorium Lecture Hall, College Block, AVMCH, Puducherry, on January 24, 2024.
The program commenced with an Invocation song, Dr. Meganathan, Professor & HOD of the Department of Pharmacology delivered the welcome address. Following that, Prof. Dr. Rakesh Sehgal, the Dean, spoke to the delegates about the significance of maintaining proper mental health.
Prof. Dr. Rakesh Sehgal, the Dean, and Dr. T. Rajan, VP(Admin), felicitated the speakers. The speakers for the CME included Dr. N Balamurugan, MD, DM(Neuro), who serves as the Director & Consultant Neurologist at SIMS Chellum Hospital in Salem, Tamil Nadu. Additionally, Dr. Mangaiarkkarasi, MD, Professor & Head of the Department of Pharmacology at Sri Venkateswara Medical College and Research Institute, Puducherry, and Dr. Melody, MD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital, Puducherry, shared their expertise.
After the presentations, Dr. Madhana Gopal, Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at AVMC&H, took charge of the Question & Answer session. Expressing gratitude for the event, the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Franc Deepika Venugopan, Senior Resident in the Department of Pharmacology at AVMC&H. The role of Masters of Ceremony throughout the program was skillfully performed by both Dr. Kamali and Dr. Archana, Junior Residents in the Department of Pharmacology at AVMC&H. Acknowledgments were extended to Dr. Sivaraj, Professor and Treasurer, Dr. Vivek Anand, II yr PG, Dr. Ram Prabhu, and Dr. Dhivya, both I yr PGs, for their collective contributions to the successful conduction of the program.
