Republic Day is an integral part of India’s history, commemorating the day when the Constitution of India came into effect in 1950. The 75th Republic Day celebration marked a significant milestone in the country’s democratic journey. The grand event was organized to honour the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution.

The 75th Republic Day celebration took place on January 26, 2024. The day commenced with the welcome address followed by the traditional Republic Day parade at Rajpath in New Delhi. The parade showcased the rich cultural diversity of India through state-of-the-art tableaux, military displays, and vibrant performances.

Precisely at 8:00 AM in the AVMC playground, Dr. Rakesh Sehgal, AVMC’s Dean, raised the National Tricolour and delivered the Republic Day address. The leadership team, Heads of various Colleges, Heads of Departments (HoDs), administrators, and the AVMC campus community joined him, turning the flag hoisting into a solemn occasion that embodied unity and patriotism.

Dr. V. N. Mahalakshmi, the Dean (HPE), addressed the audience on the administration of the Constitutional Pledge. Meanwhile, students at AVMC organized diverse cultural programs, showcasing the rich heritage and artistic talent from different states. These programs featured dance performances, speeches focusing on Constitutional rights, and the rendition of patriotic songs.

The 75th Republic Day celebration reached its culmination with a vote of thanks, an exchange of greetings during the national anthem, and the distribution of sweets. This significant event fostered unity and heightened patriotism within the AVMC community.
