World Leprosy Day 2024: A Counteract to the stigma linked disease

Annually, World Leprosy Day is commemorated on the last Sunday of January to enhance awareness of leprosy and counteract the stigma linked to the disease. This day serves as a reminder of the continual endeavours to manage and eliminate leprosy globally. The Department of Community Medicine organized World Leprosy Day events on the 29th and 30th of January, contributing to the global efforts to address this public health concern.

The team provided education on leprosy, preventive and control measures, and the advantages of the National Leprosy Eradication Programme. World Leprosy Day plays a vital role in uniting global efforts to eradicate leprosy.
