The Museum activity – Model-making exhibition cum competition

The Museum activity organized by the Department of Physiology for the I MBBS students took place every Wednesday in February 2024, from 10:15 am to 1:00 pm. The batch of 150 students was divided equally into three groups, each consisting of 50 students. These groups were subdivided into 9 smaller groups, each comprising 4-6 students. Each group was tasked with presenting three aspects: a working model on physiological concepts, charts on physiological concepts, and a chosen scientist and their contributions to the field of medicine. These presentations occurred in the department throughout February.

A total of 9 working models, 9 charts, and 9 presentations on scientists were evaluated by three judges: Dr Gautam Sarkar, Professor in the Department of Biochemistry; Dr Lakshmi Jatiya, Vice Principal of Student Affairs; and Dr R. Latha, Vice Principal of Academics. The exhibition was enjoyed by all faculty and students of AVMC, with the I MBBS students explaining their exhibits to visitors. Results and prizes were announced and distributed at Ganesan Hall, with esteemed guests including Prof. Sarman Singh, the Medical Director; Dr. V.N. Mahalakshmi, the Dean of Health Profession Education; and Dr. Manju M, HOD of the Department of Biochemistry. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. M. Gopinath, Professor and Head of the Department of Physiology, followed by the National Anthem. Both guests and students appreciated the event, and feedback responses were collected.

Team 4, led by Smriti Kumari, won the first prize for their presentation on Scientist Contribution, focusing on EDWARD G ROBERTS. Other members of the team were included with Snehalatha, Sonal Neeraj Kumar Singh, Sriharini C, and Sridhar.
