The celebration of women on International Women’s Day 2024 at Smt. Annapoorani Mini Auditorium by AVMC through the Women Empowerment Cell, under the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” commenced with a Welcome Address by Dr. Sathish Kurvilla, Dean in charge, followed by the lighting of the lamp by esteemed dignitaries. Ms. Malavika Gangadhar, a first-year MBBS student, delivered the invocation. Dr. V.N. Mahalakshmi, Dean HPE, spoke on introducing the United Nations theme for Women’s Day 2024, accompanied by an artistic presentation by students focusing on the sub-themes. Mr. Suresh Raman, Director of HR, presented an introductory and felicitation speech. Dr. P.F. Kotur, Provost, honoured and felicitated the Women Achievers of Vinayaka Missions – Puducherry Campus. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Anusheela Howlader, Member-Secretary of the Women Empowerment Cell, followed by the National Anthem. A group picture was taken of the awardees, and all attendees were treated to snacks and juice.
