Ear Hearing care a reality for all – World Hearing Day celebration

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology, in collaboration with the Department of Audiology and the School of Rehabilitation and Behavioural Sciences, successfully organized the World Hearing Day Program on March 2nd, 2024. The event began with a traditional “TAMIL THAI VAZHTHU” inauguration ceremony.

Dr. Atul Mukul Bage, our esteemed Professor and HOD of Otorhinolaryngology, addressed the audience, emphasizing the significance of World Hearing Day and its impact on society. Subsequently, a lamp lighting ceremony took place, with dignitaries including Dr. Rakesh Sehgal (Dean), Dr. V.N. Mahalakshmi (Dean HPE), Dr. Satish Korah Kuruvila (Medical Superintendent), and Dr. K. Jayasingh (Director – HG & OS).

Dr. Arunachalam, the HOD of Community Medicine and Deputy Medical Superintendent, delivered a speech in the local language, stressing the importance of early screening for hearing loss to both the audience and patients. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. T.C. Vikram Raj Mohanam, Associate Professor of Otorhinolaryngology.
