The Department of Community Medicine at AVMC organized the IAPSM World Health Day quiz on April 8th, 2024, at Smt. Annapoorani Multipurpose Hall. This event World Health Day, is celebrated annually on April 7th. The quiz aimed to engage MBBS students nationwide, starting with a preliminary elimination round held on April 2nd, 2024, at Annapoorani Hall, AVMC. Twenty-five teams comprising three students each, from first to fourth-year MBBS, participated in this round. The invigilators were Dr. Kavya and Dr. Arun Vineeth, PGs from the Department of Community Medicine. The top four teams were selected to advance to the final round. On April 8th, the final round took place at the same venue, with teams determined by a lottery system. Dr. S. Subalakshmi, Dr. Jennifer Rachel, Dr. J. Varsha, and Dr. R. Sachudhanandham served as scorers and timekeepers, Dr. N. Nishanthini, Dr. T. Vignesh, Dr. S. Bhuvaneshwary, and Dr. Simon Jude acted as quizmasters. After four intense rounds, the team of Kashish Kapoor, Recha Yadhav, and Ankita Yadhav from the third year emerged as the winners. Dr. D. Arunachalam, Professor and Head of the Department of Community Medicine, presented the prizes to the winners and runners-up of the competition.
