A general screening camp was organized by the Immaculate congregation of PMI NGO in coordination with AVMC and Central Prison, Arisipperiyankuppam, Cuddalore, from 13.02.2023 to 15.02.2023. The purpose of the camp was to screen the prisoners for various diseases and identify cases requiring further treatment. The camp was organized under the leadership of Dr Jayasingh, MS, and was supported by Dr Jayakumar DMS.
The camp was attended by various departments of AVMC, including General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Audiology, and Dermatology. The camp screened 725 male prisoners for various diseases, and cancer screening was done for 35 female prisoners. The camp was held for three days and provided an opportunity for the prisoners to get access to healthcare services.
Sr. Lourdes Mary, Immaculate congregation of PMI NGO was responsible for organizing the event. Mrs Jayanthi Jeyarakini, Deputy Nursing Superintendent, made necessary arrangements for the camp. The Superintendent of Central Prison, Arisipperiyankuppam, Cuddalore, Mr Senthil, honoured the team and gave a certificate for their service.
This general screening camp organized by AVMC and Immaculate congregation of PMI NGO, AVMC, and Central Prison, Arisipperiyankuppam, Cuddalore, provided an excellent opportunity for the prisoners to get access to healthcare services.
