Established in 2000, the Department of Dentistry at AVMCH provides comprehensive oral healthcare, surgical excellence, and community-driven screening programs for oral health and cancer prevention.

The Department of Dentistry spans 1,270 sq. ft., featuring dedicated areas for consultation, treatment, and recovery. We follow an efficient 'time-in, time-out' practice to minimize patient waiting times. Our services range from routine dental extractions to advanced endodontic and periodontal procedures, all delivered in a modern, air-conditioned clinical environment.
Postgraduate students in General Surgery receive structured exposure to minor and major oral surgical procedures under both local and general anesthesia. Training occurs in both the department's specialized treatment rooms and the main hospital operation theatres, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of oral and maxillofacial surgical principles.
Our clinical services include all types of dental extractions, root canal treatments, and periodontal care like ultrasonic scaling. A key focus is oral cancer prevention; we conduct free screenings every Thursday and provide tobacco cessation counseling. Eligible patients receive free treatment under government health schemes like CMCHIS.
