Faculty Development Programme

Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME)

AVMCH strengthens faculty excellence through ACME — the advanced NMC-aligned programme that builds on BCME and equips educators to lead CBME implementation across departments.

What is ACME?

The Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME) is a faculty development programme for medical educators who have completed BCME. It advances skills in curriculum planning, assessment science, educational leadership, and quality assurance — enabling faculty to drive CBME reforms at Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital.

  • Progression pathway for faculty who have completed the NMC-mandated Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME).
  • Conducted through the Medical Education Unit (MEU) with alignment to NTTC, JIPMER Puducherry guidelines.
  • Strengthens faculty capacity for curriculum delivery, formative assessment, and simulation-integrated teaching.
  • Multiple AVMCH faculty are ACME-trained and serve as MEU resource persons for workshops and induction programmes.
