Postgraduate Program

MD Anatomy

Doctor of MedicineA three-year postgraduate program in clinical and applied anatomy, neurosciences, and cytogenetics with AR-VR, plastination, and research laboratory training.

Program Overview

The MD Anatomy program at AVMCH trains postgraduate scholars in gross anatomy, histology, embryology, neuroanatomy, and applied anatomy in accordance with NMC guidelines. Training combines cadaveric dissection, museum-based learning, and modern digital anatomy through the department's AR-VR Lab.

Scholars receive structured exposure to teaching methodology, research protocol development, journal clubs, and dissertation work. The department maintains specialized units including the Plastination Unit, Anthropometric Lab, and cytogenetics research laboratory.

Faculty and postgraduate students actively engage in clinical variation studies, neuroanatomical research, and molecular anatomy projects supported by the voluntary body donation programme.
