Publications & Patents
A central hub for undergraduate and postgraduate training, diagnostic services, and translational research in collaboration with international cancer centres.
The department plays a central role in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, training approximately 150 MBBS students per year, 2 MD Pathology trainees, and nearly 750 students from Allied Health Sciences, Nursing, and Physiotherapy programs. All services are delivered in accordance with established national and international standards, including active participation in NABH, NABL, and international accreditation processes.
Faculty members are actively involved in lectures, practical training, demonstrations, and clinico-pathological correlation sessions. The department has adopted several academic and diagnostic innovations, including a Digital Pathology Museum, a dedicated departmental webpage, and an educational YouTube channel (DIGIPATH-2020) to support supplementary teaching and self-directed learning.
The department has a strong research orientation with faculty engaged in intramural and extramural projects, including funded projects supported by ICMR. We maintain ongoing collaboration with MD Anderson, USA for oncopathology research.
We serve as a Research Advisory Committee (RAC) member for other medical colleges and contribute expertise in laboratory safety and risk assessment as Biosafety Committee members for external industries.
