The Department of Emergency Medicine at AVMCH serves as the high-acuity gateway to hospital-based acute care. We manage undifferentiated patients across all age groups 24/7, emphasizing time-sensitive interventions like stroke, STEMI, and trauma alerts through a structured, color-coded triage system.

Operating as a 'hospital within a hospital,' we provide seamless transition from pre-hospital stabilization to specialized ICU care, backed by around-the-clock stat imaging and diagnostics.

The Department of Emergency Medicine is a dedicated specialty for the rapid evaluation and management of acute illness and injury. We integrate principles of trauma management, toxicology, and disaster medicine. Our role is critical in patient safety and hospital workflow, serving as the primary gateway to acute care while significantly reducing morbidity and mortality through early recognition of stroke, sepsis, and cardiac arrest.

We emphasize simulation-based emergency training and regular mock drills to maintain staff preparedness. Our faculty are active in teaching undergraduate, postgraduate, and nursing staff in life-saving skills. We follow international 'Gold Standard' protocols like ACLS, ATLS, and PALS, ensuring 'Door-to-ECG' times under 10 minutes and immediate CT access for 'Brain Attack' victims.

Our approach utilizes bedside ultrasound (POCUS) as a 'modern stethoscope' to identify internal bleeding or heart failure in real-time, eliminating the risk of moving critical patients prematurely.

Beyond technical excellence, we remain committed to human-centric care through dedicated family counseling and a mission-driven promise to provide free first aid and subsidized care for the underprivileged.
