The Department of General Medicine is one of the most significant clinical departments at AVMCH. The undergraduate programme was Established in 2001, offering a 4½-year MBBS course with a mandatory one-year internship, affiliated to Vinayaka Mission Deemed University, Salem, with an annual intake of 150 Students.
The Postgraduate (MD) programme was launched in 2007 with 4 seats, later expanded to 5 seats in 2013, and now admits 14 PG students each year, reflecting the department’s growing academic strength and clinical capacity.
