MD Community Medicine
Doctor of Medicine — Public health residency integrating epidemiology, biostatistics, national health programmes, field training at Urban and Rural HTCs, and ICMR-supported community research.
Program Overview
The MD Community Medicine program trains specialists in preventive medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, nutrition, and health systems management.
Scholars receive field postings at the Urban Health Training Centre (Mudhaliarpet) and Rural Health Training Centre (Chinnakanganakuppam), participating in camps, school health programmes, and family adoption projects.
The department conducts 47+ research projects since 2023 with ICMR, Ohio, and intramural funding, and offers value-added courses in Field Epidemiology and Healthcare Delivery Systems.
