“Bridging Genomics & Pathology for Precision Medicine”
The International Conference on Pathology & Genomics for Precision Medicine (PAGE-26), organised by the Global Society for Biomarkers and Precision Medicine (GSBPM) and the Department of Pathology & Medical Biotechnology, Vinayaka Mission’s Puducherry Campus, was successfully conducted on 8th and 9th October 2026 at Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital, Puducherry, under the theme Bridging Genomics & Pathology for Precision Medicine.
The event was a grand success, bringing together eminent national and international experts, faculty members, researchers, postgraduate and undergraduate students, and industry representatives to deliberate on next-generation clinical and molecular diagnostics.
On Day 1, hands-on masterclasses provided practical training to attendees: a hands-on workshop on Liquid Biopsy for Precision Oncology was conducted by Dr. Rajyalakshmi Luthra of MD Anderson Cancer Center, USA, attracting more than 80 participants, while a second workshop on Next-Generation Training in Pathology and Experimental Therapeutics was conducted by Dr. Rama Soundararajan of MD Anderson Cancer Center, engaging more than 150 participants.
On Day 2, the scientific conference was formally inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Vijay Chandru, who delivered the keynote address. A momentous milestone was the formal inauguration of the Global Society for Biomarkers and Precision Medicine (GSBPM) by Prof. Dr. Vijay Chandru, establishing a pivotal collaborative platform to foster interdisciplinary research in precision diagnostics and biomarker discovery.
The comprehensive scientific programme featured expert lectures on haematopathology, molecular diagnostics, cancer genomics, liquid biopsy, artificial intelligence, multi-omics, and precision oncology, accompanied by robust oral, poster, and Young Scientist Award presentations. The scientific deliberations were chaired by distinguished academicians including Dr. Prabhu Manivannan of JIPMER, Dr. Thamilselvi of VMKV Medical College, Salem, and Dr. Srivani of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital.
The conference received valuable sponsorship and technical partnership from Tulip Diagnostics, HiMedia, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Spinco, Subra Scientific, National Scientific, and Apollo Diagnostics. Overall, PAGE-26 proved to be an exemplary academic initiative facilitating knowledge exchange, translational research dissemination, and academia-industry synergy, reaffirming AVMCH’s commitment to frontiers in genomics and medicine.
