Profile Biography

Dr. R. Latha is Professor of Microbiology and Vice Dean (Academic & Digitalisation) at Aarupadai Veedu Medical College and Hospital. She has 16 years of teaching experience for undergraduate, postgraduate, nursing, and allied health science students, and guides MD and PhD scholars in microbiology and molecular biology.

She is co-principal investigator on a DBT-sponsored Indo-UK project defining the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) burden of antimicrobial manufacturing waste in Puducherry and Chennai (budget ₹25.54 lakhs). She has completed NABL training on quality management systems and internal audit in medical labs as per ISO 15189-2012, with expertise in molecular diagnostic technologies.

She is a member of the Medical Education Unit and has completed rBCW & CISP II and a biomedical research management course. She has published several papers and book chapters on microbiology and molecular biology.
