Dr. Lakshmi Jatiya

Dr. Lakshmi Jatiya is Professor of Physiology and Vice Dean (Student Welfare & International Affairs) at Aarupadai Veedu Medical College. She obtained her MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi (1990) and MD from JIPMER, Pondicherry (1999), both with honours.

She is a dedicated advocate of gender equality and women’s empowerment, serving as Presiding Officer of the Internal Complaints Committee and Member-Secretary of the Women Empowerment Cell.

She co-authored Essentials of Medical Physiology with her mentor Dr. Madan Mohan Trakroo. An active researcher and member of academic committees and professional associations in Physiology, she has organised and participated in several national and international conferences, CMEs, and workshops, and has published more than 20 papers in reputed journals.
