Harvard Professors’ visit to Vinayaka Mission’s Puducherry Campus and launch of Center for AI in Medicine

Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (VMRF) – Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital welcomed Dr. Eve Rittenberg, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School & Associate Physician, Division of Women’s Health, Department of Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, USA and Jeffrey Liebman, Professor of Social Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, USA for a landmark visit. Dr. Rittenberg delivered a captivating guest lecture on “Trauma-Informed Care & Resilience” to the institution’s faculty and students. Her insights emphasized the importance of trauma informed care, reinforcing the institution’s holistic approach to medical education.

In a significant milestone for medical education and research in India, Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation inaugurated the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (C-AIM) on its Puducherry campus. The launch marks a pioneering step toward integrating artificial intelligence into healthcare, medical education, and research. The center aims to revolutionize patient outcomes through precision medicine, foster ground-breaking research, and integrate AI tools into medical training. By merging cutting-edge technology with compassionate care, C-AIM is set to position Vinayaka Missions as a leader in AI-driven healthcare innovation.

To symbolize this launch, a dynamic panel discussion titled “Artificial Intelligence in Medicine” brought together leading minds from academia and clinical practice moderated by Mr. Suresh Samuel, Full-time Member, Board of Management VMRF. Dr. Eve Rittenberg joined distinguished panelists, including; Dr. Ashok Kumar Das, Director Academics, MGMCRI; Dr. Venkateswaran, Professor of Medicine, JIPMER; Dr. Vimal, Professor of Pathology, SMVMCH; Dr. Parthiban, Director, C-AIM; and Dr. Vithiavathi, Professor & Head of General Medicine, AVMCH. Together, they explored AI’s transformative potential in healthcare, delving into topics like predictive diagnostics, personalized treatment plans, drug discovery, and emerging research opportunities. The discussion highlighted how AI can bridge the gap between technological innovation and human-centered medical practice.
