The Department of Microbiology at Aarupadai Veedu Medical College and Hospital (AVMC&H) proudly inaugurated its state-of-the-art Molecular Diagnostics and Research Laboratory (MDR Lab) on November 11, 2024. This new facility was launched by our respected Dean, Dr. Rakesh Sehgal, alongside Dr. R. Latha, Vice Principal of Academics, and Dr. K. Kavitha, Professor and Head of Microbiology.
The MDR Lab is a significant enhancement to AVMC&H’s diagnostic and research infrastructure, specially designed to advance molecular microbiology capabilities. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the lab will focus on key areas such as infectious disease diagnostics, genetic analysis, and PCR-based testing, positioning AVMC&H at the forefront of medical research and practical application in molecular diagnostics. This launch reinforces the department’s dedication to research excellence, supporting innovation and precision in diagnostic healthcare.
