Gurudhakshatha, a Faculty Induction Program, organized by the Medical Education Unit at Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital, VMRF, is a UGC-mandated, comprehensive initiative designed to orient and prepare newly appointed faculty members for their roles in medical education. The program has been organized for the third time in a row by Medical Education Unit, AVMCH.
The 32-hour participatory learning program, held on October 3rd, 4th, 7th, and 9th, 2024, successfully delivered a series of impactful workshops designed to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment practices. The program began with a workshop on Instructional Design and Teaching-Learning Methods and Media on October 3rd.
On October 4th, participants engaged in a session on Skills Training and SBME, followed by Assessment Methods in the afternoon. The sessions on Microteaching and Equity, Diversity, Mentoring, and Student Support took place on October 7th, and the program concluded on October 9th with workshops on Programmatic Assessment, Accreditation, and Reflection.
The event offered a dynamic and interactive learning experience, equipping participants with practical strategies and tools to implement effective educational practices. The program was well-received, with positive feedback highlighting its comprehensive approach and expert facilitation.
