She did graduation and post graduation in Physiology from renowned medical Institutions like Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi in 1990 and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry in 1999 respectively.
As Presiding officer of Internal Complaints Committee, Member Secretary of Women Empowerment cell in her Institute and actively involves in creating awareness about gender equality at work place and rights for women. She has co-authored a book in her speciality with her Mentor, Dr Madan Mohan Trakroo. She is also Member, Board of Studies, External expert – Research Advisory committee and Examiner in various Universities. She has successfully organized Conferences, CMEs and Workshops. Has published papers in national and international journals and is a member of various professional bodies in Physiology.

She has experience in carrying out electrophysiological studies and pulmonary function tests and Studies related to effect of yoga in health and disease.

Physiology for the best performance in PG University examination for the year 1999

Honors & awards received:

  • Dr Lakshmi Jatiya also received an Award of Excellence in recognition of her exemplary service towards Institution building in 2019
  • She was also awarded Women Achiever Award from KavithaiVaanil Kavi Mandram, Jothi Eye Care centre and Rotary clubs of Pondicherry Eves, Cosmos & Agaram on occasion of International Women’s day and Assist World Record Programme.
  • Rotary Aurocity, Pondicherry presented her with a certificate of appreciation for her service to humanity as a Doctor and conduct of health camp on 26th September 2021.
  • Received certificate of appreciation for extension activity (Plantation drive) from JIPMER plantation committee in 2015.
