Facilities for Teaching & Learning
Academic activities for post-graduate MD., DVL students are conducted every afternoon from Monday to Friday in the demonstration rooms of the OPD and ward. Both the rooms are equipped with a projector, screen, and black board and white board to aid in teaching. Clinical classes for under- and post-graduates are conducted in the OPD and at bedside in the ward. Facilities for online teaching with a portable Wi-Fi dongle are available for conducting online theory and practical classes for under- and post-graduate students.

PATIENT CARE:
Overview
Department of DVL aims:
- To give health education to patients regarding skin hygiene and skin diseases.
- To conduct screening camps for skin diseases.
- To do community-based knowledge, attitude and perception studies regarding skin diseases, leprosy and sexually transmitted diseases.
- To conduct awareness programmes for vitiligo, psoriasis and leprosy etc.
- To do research projects in the field of dermatology.
- To make the department a hi-tech dermato-cosmetology unit.
Unique features:
- Issuing of phototherapy card for patients receiving NBUVB and PUVA phototherapy
- Issuing of pamphlets to patients with dermatophyte infections
- Counselling to adolescent acne patients for better treatment compliance and avoidance of adverse effects
- Diode laser is used for p-n junction for producing coherent radiation
Clinical Problem treated:
- Management of dermatological disorders
- Dermato–surgery and cosmetological treatments, including laser treatments
- Investigations and treatment of leprosy and lepra reactions
- Investigation and treatment of sexually transmitted infections

- Daily dermatology and STD clinics from Monday to Friday 08.30 AM and 04.30 PM and Saturday – 08:30 AM to 1:00 PM

IP Services:
Male and female in-patient wards, with 15 beds each, are available for management of patients who require admission. All investigations, basic medications and hospital stay are provided free of charge for all patients.
Emergency Services:
All emergency dermatological patients visiting the emergency department are attended by on-call duty dermatology junior residents and consultants.
Patient welfare activities:
Out-patient and in-patient services including investigations and basic medications are provided free of cost. Patients visiting the OPD are given health education regarding their illness. In addition, phototherapy cards are provided for patients receiving NBUVB and PUVA phototherapy. Health education pamphlets are provided to patients with dermatophyte infections. Counselling is provided to adolescent acne patients for better treatment compliance and avoidance of adverse effects.
