Facilities for Teaching & Learning

Department of dentistry is adopting new technological advancements in the teaching-learning process include PowerPoint lectures, we are allowing the students for live patient demonstration during clinical postings, practising the students for suturing technique using sponge and taking radiographic discussion with x-ray lobby. The department offers clinical observations for the students regarding important dental procedures and knowledge of cysts and tumours of the oral cavity and is able to differentiate them and also suturing technique. Department offers surgery PGs, to observe and give the training to do some surgical procedures under both LA and GA in OT and department. Faculty members are provided with a computer and internet connection. There are normal and clinically relevant Radiographs and CT scans for regular small group discussions with students.

PATIENT CARE:

Overview

 Services offered in our department like all types of extraction including pediatric. Endodontic procedures like Restoration & Root canal treatment, periodontal procedures like ultrasonic general scaling & subgingival scaling. We have been involved in school health camps, Public camps & Adopted village camps on a regular basis for whom, oral screening was done to evaluate any precancerous lesion, condition & Malignancy in chronic tobacco chewing patients. We are also giving tobacco cessation sessions for those patients and if they needed any special treatment were referred to AVMC&H and treatment were done at free of cost with free medicines under the chief minister scheme or any other schemes for major surgeries and also advice the patient for regular follow up. Air-conditioned treatment room for patient care. The department provides high-quality treatment and also free oral cancer screening program is going on once a week and educating awareness about oral cancer to patients.

Unique Features inpatient care:

We are following the “Time in and time out” Register for patients. This ensures that patients will not wait for a long time.

Tooth pain relieving procedures ( Eg: extraction, RCT, etc).

OPD Services:

6days/week, Time- 9am-4:30pm, Venue- Dental Department.

Ip services:

A collaboration with the General surgery Department – Major surgical procedures under General anaesthesia ( Open reduction & Fixation of maxillofacial fractures, Orthognathic surgeries, Temporomandibular joint surgeries, Excision of tumours etc.

Emergency Services provided :

Extraction of the unbearable painful tooth which is completely damaged.
