The Aarupadai Veedu Medical College, Pondicherry, organized the 4th International e-conference, BMSeCON-23, focusing on the theme “Beyond Boundaries: Exploring Excellence in Basic Medical Sciences.” The conference, facilitated by the Departments of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, and the Centre for Biomedical Research, took place from December 13th to 15th, 2023.The conference had 825 registrations. The conference has been accredited with 6 credit hours by the Tamil Nadu Medical Council.
Fifteen distinguished resource persons, including international speakers from the USA, Singapore, Malaysia, and Korea, and nine national speakers from various parts of the country, enriched the conference. The scientific talks were more interactive and thought-provoking. Thanks to the learned scholars who chaired the sessions. The event also benefited from the perspectives of 40 judges across India, who provided valuable opinions and suggestions.
The conference focused on illuminating the importance of basic medical science disciplines in clinical medicine and research. The objectives included serving as a platform for sharing recent developments in diagnosis, research, and teaching-learning methodologies related to basic medical sciences. Additionally, the conference aimed to encourage young, aspiring medical professionals to present their research work, facilitating knowledge updates and fostering networking opportunities.
This three-day virtual conference was a great success with positive feedback from the delegates, resource faculty, chairpersons, and judges. Young Research Scholar awards were announced during the valedictory program, comprising certificates and cash prizes. An e-souvenir is released, and abstracts have been compiled and submitted to JCDR for publication.
