On August 30, 2024, addressing workplace harassment and ensuring women’s safety were highlighted as critical concerns at AVMC. The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), in collaboration with the Human Resources Department, hosted an awareness program for non-teaching personnel. The session aimed to inform staff about the operations of the ICC, the resources available to female employees, and how to access these services.
Dr. Kayalvizhi and Mrs. Rama, both student counselors at AVMC, along with ICC members Ms. R. Vijayachitra, Manager of Informatics, and Ms. Durga from the Dean’s Office, provided insights on current policies and procedures for lodging complaints and other benefits available to women staff. They also guided participants on maintaining mental resilience and managing instances of harassment in the workplace. Over 100 participants attended the program, reflecting the institution’s commitment to creating a safe and supportive work environment.
