With total commitment and interest, the MBBS students of 2022–2023 donned the white coat. They decided to devote their lives to serving the needs of others in the white coat ceremony organised by the foundation course team and first-year faculty team held at Smt. Annapoorani Shanmughasundaram mini auditorium, AVMCH campus, on December 23, 2022, between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The programme was started with the welcome address given by Dr S. Ilankathir (Foundation Course Coordinator, AVMC&H). The Dean of AVMCH, Dr P.F. Kotur, delivered his speech to the MBBS batch 2022–2023 students. The significance of the white coat ceremony was felicitated by Dr K. Jaysingh (Medical Superintendent, AVMCH), followed by the cloaking of students in the presence of all guests and first-year faculties. Dr Sasmitha Mishra administered the modified Charaka oath (Professor of the Department of Biochemistry), followed by a vote of thanks from Dr M. Gopinath (Professor of the Department of Physiology). The broadcast of the Whitecoat ceremony was made live on the AVMC’s official YouTube channel.
