Brief Overview

  • THE Dept was established in the year 2000

  • Over the years the dept has seen a marked growth in OP & IP Strength.

  • The Dept offers best psychiatry care through its exclusive psychiatric specialty clinics and general outpatient services which operate from Monday to Saturday by expert faculties from 9 to 4p.m.

  • The department has conducted many outreach mental health awareness programs in schools, colleges and other establishments.

  • The dept offers 24*7 suicide prevention helpline

  • The department runs a 40 bedded ward (Male ward-15 beds, Female ward- 15 beds, Deaddiction ward- 10 beds).

  • Electro convulsive therapy was started in 2016

  • Exclusive De-addicition ward (Raksha de-addiction ward)was opened in 2017

  • Advances in treatment: Ketamine infusion for depressive disorder was started in 2018

  •  Modified ECT facility is available for patients care

  • Dept is fully equipped with neuropsychological assessment tools and equipments for post graduate training 

  • Dept also offers counselling and psychotherapy sessions through trained clinical psychologist and psychiatric social worker
