Internal Quality Assurance Cell

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has been established in the college as proposed by UGC and NAAC. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the Institution. It is the part of the Institution’s system and work towards realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustained development.

Aim

To develop a system of conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the Institution.

To promote measures for Institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through Internalization of quality culture and Institutionalization of best practices.

Objectives

To identify strengths and weaknesses in the process and outcome of teaching and learning.

To improve healthy practices and overcome weaknesses.

To evolve a feedback mechanism and employ it for reforms and development.

To create intellectual atmosphere for the benefit of educational system at grass roots.

To prepare actions plans for academic sessions.

To bring overall efficiency in academic programs of the college.

Functions

Development and application of quality benchmarks/ parameters for various academic and administrative activities of institution.

Facilitating the creation of a learner- centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.

Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality- related institutional processes.

Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education.

Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles.

Documentation of the various programmes/ activities leading to quality improvement.

Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality- related activities, including adaption and dissemination of best practices.

Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining / enhancing the Institutional quality.

Development of Quality Culture in the institution.

Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines, preparation of Data for All India Survey of Higher Education (AISHE) and parameter of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC.

Activities

o ‘One day sensitization Workshop as NAAC Re-assessment’ for all HOI’s and HOD’s was held on 17.09.2019, Tuesday by 10 am to 3pm at MEU Seminar Hall and Total number of participants were 52 Nos.

o Vice Chancellor visit to AVMCH on 17.09.2019 for individual interaction with Dean, MS, VP, HOI’s of SAHS, VMCON and School of Physiotherapy, Research Coordinator, Students of AVMCH (UGs & PGs), VMCON, SAHS and School of Physiotherapy.

o Departmental IQAC Coordinator meeting for Orientation on New Primary Data Collection format for NAAC on 13.11.2019 (Wednesday), 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm at Pathology Demonstration Hall, 1st Floor College Block (Total No. of Participants 41 Nos.).

o IQAC Composition member meeting was held on 11.10.2019 by 12 noon for Annual Report, Monthly Report and discussion on Data Collection status at IQAC.

o Departmental IQAC Coordinator meeting with DEAN-HPE for Data Submission for NAAC Self Study Report was held on 04.01.2020 by 11.30 am at MEU (Total No. of participant 37 Nos.)

o All departmental IQAC coordinators meeting including service department with Dean and Dean-HPE was held on 25.01.2020 from 2.pm to 3 pm at MEU Seminar Hall for Review of Primary Data, Upload of supporting documents and time line for activities (Total No. of participant 65 Nos.)

o All departmental IQAC coordinators meeting was held on 24.02.2020 at 3pm regarding upcoming Internal AAA Audit on 27 & 28th February 2020 following University AAA Audit on 04th & 5th March 2020.

o Internal AAA Audit was held on 27th & 28th February 2020 between 10 am to 4pm conducted by Dean along with IQAC Team to all departments and services.

o External University AAA Audit was held on 04th & 5th March 2020 conducted by VMRF Experts Director-IQAC, Academics and Research along with Faculties of Vinayaka Missions Medical College, Karaikal and Nursing College of Karaikal, IQAC AAA Audit Report from VMRF was received on 28.05.2020 with deficiencies and compliance individually to all Clinical, Non-clinical departments and service departments.

o IQAC Departmental Coordinators meetings was held on 06th March 2020 at 9.30 am for Discussion on GAP Analysis found by University Expert team, how to maintain time line for Uploading the data’s to the University and GAP found in the maintenance department should be sort out and inform to concern responsible persons (Total No. of participants were 26 Nos.)

o CRRI Exit survey and Feedback was conducted on 19.03.2020 by 1.45 pm at College Block (Total No. of participants were 78 Nos.)

o IQAC workshop on ‘Best Practices’ was held on 1.05.2020 by 2.30 pm in Zoom Platform for all faculties (Total No. of participants were 58 Nos.)

o IQAC Workshop on E-Content creation for CAMU-LMS was conducted on 13th, 19th and 20th May 2020 (Total No. of participants were 229 Nos.)

o IQAC Workshop on Sensitization on NAAC New Health Manual on Zoom Platform from 9.30 am to 11.30 am and 2 pm to 4pm on 08th, 9th, 10th and 11th June 2020 for all faculties of AVMCH, VMCON, SAHS and School of Physiotherapy ((Total No. of participants were 150 Nos.)

o IQAC Workshop - Administrative Training on Human Capital Management System (HCMS) on

o IQAC Departmental Coordinators and IQAC Core Team meeting through zoom platform on 06.06.2020 by 9.30 am to 10.30 am on SSR preparation Additional Data for value added courses, CME workshop organized certificates in AVMC, CME workshop attended certificates, Funds received, Ph.D Guide appointment order and data Collection.

o Intra Institutional AAA Audit from 15.07.2020 to 24.07.2020 and compliance report, 99 files updation report, laboratory report, service department report were collected, analysed and action taken.
